ED Meds: Facts & Ordering Info

Types of erectile dysfunction

Vascular erectile dysfunction (ED): This form of ED arises from issues affecting the blood vessels responsible for delivering blood to the penile tissues necessary for achieving and maintaining an erection, or problems with the valves that retain blood within the penis. It is the most prevalent type of ED.

Neurogenic erectile dysfunction: This type occurs due to nerve-related problems that disrupt the signals traveling from the brain to the penis to initiate an erection. Causes can include trauma, pelvic surgeries, radiation therapy, or neurological conditions such as stroke, spinal stenosis, and multiple sclerosis (MS).

Hormonal erectile dysfunction: Hormonal ED is caused by hormonal imbalances, most commonly a deficiency in testosterone, though thyroid disorders can also be a factor.

Psychogenic erectile dysfunction: This form of ED is linked to psychological conditions that impact thoughts, emotions, or behavior, potentially leading to difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection.

Erectile dysfunction is rather common.
