Test for diagnosing erectile dysfunction

Depending on what your healthcare provider suspects is causing erectile dysfunction, the following tests may be ordered:

• Blood tests.
• Complete blood count (CBC).
• Lipid panel.
• Thyroid tests.
• Testosterone test.
• Urinalysis (urine test).
• Penile Doppler ultrasound.
• Liver function tests.
• Kidney function tests.
• Tests that measure if the nerves in your penis respond to vibrations (penile biothesiometry).
• Drugs that temporarily make your penis erect (vasoactive injection).
• Magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA).

It is very likely that initially you will be asked a series of questions related to your ED.
